Hey all,

So my team and I have a day off and I got some internet!  I thought you all might be interested in what our day-to-day looks like so here we go.

Monday: A day off.

Tuesday: We have been doing some manual labor in the morning.  The church we are serving with has a yard with more plastic bottles than you’ve ever seen in your life and then some.  In addition to the bottles we found the remains of math homework, some bunny slippers, decorations, and all sorts of interesting odds and ends. We have been clearing out the trash and flattening out the remaining mounds of dirt to help give more space for the kids to play.  In the afternoon we helped teach English classes to the kids of the congregation and surrounding community.  The couple on the other team who is here with us are both teachers and it has been a blessing having them lead the English lessons.

Wednesday:  At noon, we went to one of the hospitals in Uyuni and prayed for patients.  This past week we got to go in the maternity ward, saw a few sick kids, and a pair of women.  We ended up singing Amazing Grace upon request.  It was neat to see the joy of the patients with something so simple as a prayer or song.  English classes were in the afternoon again.  In the evening our teams were split up between two houses and we put on a service with music and one of us preached (go Meagan for the first week).

Thursday:  Depending on the progress of the manual labor we will have it in the morning again (not this past week), otherwise it’s English classes in the afternoon followed by some street evangelism.  This past week it took the form of handing out fliers with invitations to events for kids.  The evening was a prayer service at the church, entirely in Spanish.  The people of Bolivia believe in having many church services a week.

Friday:  A day off.  We went to the Salt Flats this past week!  There will be another blog about that coming soon.

Saturday:  In the afternoon we were again split between houses and organized a version of VBS for some of the kids.  We played musical chairs and taught them a few songs.  The evening involved running the youth group with music, a message, and games.

Sunday: There are two church services.  In the morning some of us (not me this time) helped with the youth while the rest sat in service.  There is also a service in the evening which makes for a total of 5 hours of service on Sunday in Spanish.

While it may seem like there is quite a bit of down time in our schedule it is filled with shopping trips to the market, walks to showers, cooking meals, and just generally getting from place to place.  We have been told this is a very good picture of a WR experience which I am grateful to have right off the bat.  All that to say, our days off are very much needed to be restored and refreshed for the rest of the ministry days.

Be on the look out for more posts soon!  I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to include pictures in this post.  The internet connection was not very fond of being cooperative this time around. Also, thanks to those who have continued to financially support me.  Prayers are so appreciated.  We have all discussed how we feel so blessed to have such strong prayer warriors covering us in prayer because it is so needed.  Thanks to all!
