At the beginning of the summer, I learned that my word for the season would be majestic or majesty.
Like most revelations that the Lord gives to me, these things tend to show up in the most random places. We were sorting through coloring sheets in Swaziland in July and the word majestic was featured. I’ve seen three bald eagles since being in Michigan. Three! I could go on, but you get the point.
I’ve also been re-reading my old World Race journals as I’m preparing to go back to the field. In one of those journals, I came across a nugget of insight from my past self. The word rebellion, when broken down, becomes rebel lion. Hello! Lions are the king of the jungle! It’s hard to get more majestic than that! As I pondered that this morning, the thought went to completion when I realized that Jesus was a rebel king. He came as a king and turned the world completely upside down.
Going back out to the nations is its own kind of rebellion because when believers go to dark places, kingdom is brought in a way that fights against societal norms. Bringing light into darkness tends to do that. My hope and prayer is that Gap I women can lead one heck of a majestic rebellion for these 9 months! Oh, and what’s even cooler? Each squad was given a color for training camp. Guess what color we were? PURPLE! The color of royalty!
Where are the rebel lions? Let’s lead this majestic rebellion!
